YUMMY Strawberry Fig Preserves

My sweet grandmother picked figs early Monday morning, but after picking them decided she didn't want to fool with fixing them, so Mom decided that she and I would have a cooking "bonding" lesson. I was very glad she did. I have been wanting to put up some vegetables this summer, but I won't argue with making homemade preserves either.

First, here is one out of the two pan full of figs.
Here is the mastermind behind this bonding session

Here is the finished product, how beautiful does that look.
Of course you can't make something and not give it a try, trust me, they were DELICIOUS!

Thanks mom for the wonderful cooking lesson! It is a memory I will cherish forever! I can't wait to show Aubrey and Lainey how to do this when they get older. We all 3 love you very much!

Sweet Cousins

These 4 are going to be a handful when they all get older. Poor Hudson won't stand a chance with these three girls, but for now don't they all look sooo sweet!

First Wal-Mart Trip

On Monday, the girls got to go to Wal-Mart for the first time! However, they weren't too thrilled with the place because within 5 minutes of being in there, they were asleep! Maybe that is a good thing, they won't be begging for things when they get older??!? lol But since it was their first trip, I was suckered to buy them a prize! However, they have been handy in helping keep their heads up, so I use that as my excuse :)

Thanks Daddy!

Aubrey and Lainey want to "thank" their WONDERFUL daddy for the new prize he bought them!

( Mommy says "thank you" too!!)

Our Little Firecrackers!

I have got to get better about taking pictures if we go somewhere, but since this weekend was the girls first trip away from home, I have to get used to keeping my camera with me at all times! I did get a few shots of them in their 4th outfits.
We went Friday night and stayed at the Lake House with Aunt Holley, Uncle Rodney, Hudson, Danni Kate and Nana. Nana fixed breakfast for us all Saturday morning and then we had a yummy lunch which consisted of steaks!! And of course homemade ice cream!

Then Saturday afternoon, we loaded up the Honda ( which was loaded down, we will have to move up to a bigger vehicle...SOON) and went to Pickensville to see G-diddy, he had been gone to the beach for almost 2 weeks! So it was time for the girls and me to see him. He was sweet and brought the girls back some new clothes too! They are going to be just like their mommy, love new clothes! :)

Of course we finally arrive back at Bankston about 9 PM Saturday night, only to find that our air conditioner wasn't working. I start to panic, of course we had back up places to go, but there is just no place like home! Thank goodness, I called Seth( AC man) and he was able to fix our AC by 11 PM!! Thank you Lord(and Seth for answering your phone at almost 10 PM especially on a Holiday weekend)!!!

We hope everyone had a wonderful July 4th! It was an adventure for us! :)

<------Lainey was glad to be home from the long weekend

Aubrey was afraid she might miss something, so finally at 2AM she went to sleep! :)

ONE MONTH OLD!!!!

I can hardly believe that our babies are already one month old!!!! It doesn't seem like it already! They are both taking 4 ozs of formula and I figure it will be more soon! As far as sleeping at night, they are up about every 4 hours, and they pretty much wake up at the same time, so Dan and I both are up for feedings! They are slowly starting to hold their heads up more own their own, especially if they are laying down on your chest, they want to look around and be noisy as my grandmother says. Overall, they are really good babies, about the only time they cry is when it is time to eat! The good Lord has truly blessed us!
