When I found out my best friend since kindergarten was pregnant back around August, I was very excited. I had been praying that it would happen soon for her and her husband. She has spoiled our girls since she found out I was pregnant and hasn't let up! I had a feeling around early October it was going to be a boyI remember when Martha called me once she had found out, " well, you were right." ( one day she is going to listen to me and not second guess what I say! lol one day, one day!) I was excited for them and knew who would be getting lots of baby toys, supplies and whatever I could pass on that was not girly related! At one point, she was threatening me not to find anything else for her to take home! Once we knew what they were having, the shower planning began. I love planning these types of things(so let me know if you need help!!) Of course she had to have a diaper shower. It was a real small, fun time with close friends from high school, with great food from Olive Garden and yummy cupcakes from GiGi's type of diaper shower!!! Those kind of showers are the best!

Spring is in the Air

I am sooo glad that it has finally started getting warmer. The girls are loving being outside and want to stay out there as long as they can. The "drama queens" come out when it is time to go inside( I know that is hard for some of you to believe, but it's true!) We have planted flowers and the girls have loved playing in the flower beds. They are getting to ride in their jeeps more, pull or be pulled in their wagon, making beautiful chalk art on the driveway, even trying to catch bees! ( thanks to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and the little bee Buzz Buzz, they think it's ok! lol). Maw Maw even bought the girls a new sandbox! Life is wonderful! :)

I was happy to see the snow, but was excited to see it go! The girls and I don't like having to stay put in the house all week, so by Saturday we were ready to get out!! The girls enjoyed being out in the snow for about 15 minutes! They would of loved it more, but they were taking their shoes or gloves off and got mad at Dan or me anytime we tried to put them back on. After a few meltdowns, we decided to go on inside. Atleast I got a few cute pictures of them.

Playing Dress Up

The girls got a few dress up clothes for Christmas and they have loved them. They have been sick on and off since January 1st( and I am tired of them being sick), so we played dress up one afternoon to try and help them feel better. I think it helped a little bit :)

I need to set a New Year's resolution of TRYING to be a better "blogger", but I doubt that will happen. So I will try to play catch up from the last blog post up until now.

Of course the holidays we stayed on the go go go. The girls were give out by December 27. They did enjoy themselves more this year, still not sure about the whole Santa thing, but Dan and I enjoyed what little bit they did understand. ( we had to literally go wake them up Christmas morning because we were like the kids waiting to see what Santa brought. The girls slept until almost 8:30!!!) We enjoyed getting to see everyone, I really don't feel like we got to spend lots of time at each stop because we had to rush to the next one, but I guess that is part of it.

We are truly blessed with wonderful family and friends. The girls once again were blessed with soooo many wonderful gifts. I think everyday they find something new to play with it!

2011 is finally here and we are excited to see what new things are ahead for us. Hard to believe the girls will be turning "2" in June. There are also some other BIG birthdays this year as well, but you will have to wait and see who is celebrating them.

I am also excited that my best friend since high school, Martha is expecting her first baby in April. Kyle and Martha are expecting a little boy, John Asher. Of course I told her it was going to be a boy and one day she swears she is going to start listening to me! :) Please continue to pray for Martha through the rest of her pregnancy and for a HEALTHY baby and SAFE labor.

Family Christmas #4..the last one of the year!

Finally,(I know that sounds bad, but after 4 days straight of go go go) the last family Christmas gathering of the year, at Granny Prater's. There is sooo much going on while we are there, it is very hard to get any pictures. There are about 10 kids running around and that isn't all of them, plus almost 20 adults going each direction as well, but Granny wouldn't have it any other way! :)

Poor Aunt Sandra, everyone picked on her while playing dirty santa. I think she kept this gift for about 15 seconds!

After we did Christmas at our house, we went to Ms. Wanda's house to do Christmas with her , Holley, Rodney, Hudson and Danni Kate

Hudson was not very happy with his Aunt Krisha when he opened this gift. I needed a box to wrap his present and all I had was an empty diaper box. Bless his heart, I felt bad, but after he saw what was inside, the pillow pet he had been wanting, I was back on his good graces! :)

Christmas Morning

The girls decided to FINALLY wake up around 8 AM Christmas morning. I thought Dan was going to go crazy waiting on them to get up! Of course we had to block them off so they couldn't get into the living room until the camera man was ready(then of course he got about 5 minutes of them being in there and the tape was full OOPS!) The girls must of been really good this year, or at least Santa thought so.

Christmas Eve Night

Once we FINALLY got home Christmas Eve night, the girls were still full of energy. They played with some of their new toys. Even took time to track Santa was on their new laptops.

We decided to let the girls open one present from Mommy and Daddy.

When the girls finally opened their gift, they got "Min E"(aka Minnie) dolls.

Moma D and Popa Jim gave the girls The Night Before Christmas , Popa Jim recorded his voice reading the story. The girls listened to it 3 times before going to bed.
The girls left Santa some cookies and milk and the reindeer some carrots. After goodnight kisses, the girls were off to bed and it didnt take long for them to fall asleep! Dan and I decided to exchange our gifts to each other because we knew we would be to excited watching the girls with their gifts from Santa to have time to on Christmas morning.

We traveled through the woods (literally) to Uncle Steve's house to do Christmas Eve night with the Deavours side of the family. It can get crazy there because there are soo many people and kids everywhere, but we have a good time.

We had Christmas Eve lunch with the Holley's, Ms. Wanda's side of the family. This year we got together at the lake house. Of course we ate way too much and played a lovely game of Dirty Santa! (sarcasm..lol)

Dan sometimes take this game serious, especially if he is trying to win what he brought. It can get ugly and he has to have the right strategy to pull it off. And of course he did! YOU GO HONEY!

The kids all had a fun time opening their presents. The Elmo camera the girls got is soo funny, especially when you hear Elmo say" work it baby!" lol

Family Christmas #1

We did Christmas with Mom's side on the Thursday before Christmas. We were a little worried about Aubrey and how she would react seeing Uncle Wayne (aka Santa's twin) because the week before when she saw him she just pitched a fit and wouldn't go anywhere near him. She got just close enough to him to where if she needed to get back quick she could. Before the night was over, she would at least give him a "high five."

(for some odd reason MiMi(Aunt Nita) thought it would be fun to give the girls a lemon?!!?)

Maw Maw got the most joy out of just watching the girls open the gifts she gave them, and she did good on their gifts because she got them a few of their favorite things, a doll and a jacket. I don't know what it is, but the girls LOVE to wear a jacket, for no reason. We can be at home and if they spot one of their jackets in their closet, they pitch a fit to wear it!! Oh well, I guess it's the DIVA coming out in them?!?! lol I thought I got a picture of the girls and Maw Maw, but obviously I didn't :(

The girls also got another favorite item, a new rocking chair. And it has done it's job of rocking the girls and their minnie mouse dolls to sleep! Good Job Davis Family!!

Baking Cookies

One afternoon, I got brave and decided to let the girls use cookie cutters to make some Christmas cookies. They had a wonderful time and I had a good laugh. Of course I did have to stop them from eating the raw cookie dough and they attempted more than a couple of times trying to eat it! They didn't understand why I would let them cut out the cookie and then take it away from them, but once they were able to eat the finished product, hopefully they understood :)

Sunday afternoon, after the girls woke up from their nap, Dan wanted to let them go with him to feed the deer. Of course I see this as a picture taking moment. We bundled the girls up and off we went. It took a little be longer than normal to get from the house to the barn in the backyard because the girls were easily distracted or either Dan has little patience?? Once the bucket was loaded up with corn, Dan had to find a way to make the girls follow him to the field where he throws it out. I think Dan's patience got the best of him because he ended up picking up both girls and the bucket and carrying them so it wouldn't take soo long! God love him :)

We got tickled at the girls because they would pick up one kernel at the time and throw it, once again patience played it's part and Dan just got the bucket and threw it all out at once! And all you could hear from the girls was "ooohhhh"
It was a proud Daddy/daughters moment for Dan. He really his a WONDERFUL father and Aubrey and Lainey LOVE their daddy, no matter how much patience he has! :)

Another Halloween has come and gone and we were just as busy as the year before! This year, since the girls love to sing " E-I-E-I-O" , I thought it would be cute for them to go as cows and Dan to be Old McDonald. ( If you were wondering what I went as??? The photographer!) We had the Fall Fest at Church, then trick or treating with Maw Maw, Granny Prater and G-Diddy. Next we went to Aunt Sheila and Uncle Stanley's for a Halloween Party. We stopped by to see Aunt Amanda and Uncle Chris on our way home, but they girls were asleep :( Did I mention this was all on Saturday?! Then on Sunday, the girls got their Trick or Treat surprises from Dan and I. ( Can you tell they love a phone?!?!) We then loaded up to go see Poppa Holley and loaded up on chocolate at his house! Then off to Moma D and Popa Jim's church for their Fall Festival. If you ever want to keep the girls entertained, have a duck pond! I didn't think we would ever get them out of there! I actually left Mom and Dan to bring the girls out of the room where the ducks were, because I knew what would happen, since they played at the one at church on Saturday! lol It was another fun filled Halloween at the Deavours' House!

FCHS Homecoming Game

My 10 year class reunion weekend started off with a Tailgate Party before the Fayette vs Oak Grove game. We ended up with a pretty good turnout for the game. There were some people I hadn't seen in probably 5 or 6 years, so this was a good way for us to all catch up. There was shock from some when they realized I had twins! The girls really put on a show for everyone because we all know they love the attention! :) It was really fun being back where I spent many fall Friday nights while in high school.

I celebrated my 10 year high school reunion Oct 15-16. So to kick off the weekend, the girls, Maw Maw and I went to the FCHS homecoming parade. We even got to enjoy the parade with one of the cutest little boys ever, Wes! He is precious! :) The kids had a good time and racked up on a good bit of candy.

The girls were chosen as Walle the Wildcat's little mascot for the homecoming game. I was a little worried at first on how they would act, but they did great! If you want to bring a smile to my grandmother's face, then sit with her while she gives the girls a honey bun, not a half of one for each child, they each get a whole one.(yes, I know it's not the best thing in the world for them to be eating, but it makes her happy!) Why does she love it? Who knows? It probably has something to do with the rules of being a grandparent , load them up with sugar and then send them home. On this paticular day, she was out of honey buns, so the girls had to settle for a york peppermint patty. All I can say is "thank you Lord for spray and wash"

I know I know, I am slacking on posting. Now that we have TWO little girls going in two different directions I kinda stay busy. The birthday party was WONDERFUL. The girls are truly blessed with lots of love from family and friends. ( Mom has pictures posted on her blog since I never did post any). We have enjoyed trips to Moma D and Popa Jim's pool, going to see G-Diddy and riding the pontoon boat at the river and going to Nana's house at the lake for spend the night parties with Hudson and Danni Kate. So we have been busy.

The girls received good reports from Dr. Roberts at their one year check up. They are growing like crazy. Aubrey and Lainey both weigh almost 20 pounds and are 29 inches long. They love to eat! Lainey is walking everywhere and at times I think she could almost start running! Aubrey has been slowly walking here and there, she is still a little weary about it, but she will take off soon. When they are both walking at full speed I'll never get anything done! lol

I will try to post random pictures just to let you see what has been going on! Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

It is hard to believe that it has already been a year since our lives changed for the better. I remember the night before I tossed and turned before having to get up at 3AM since we had to be at the hospital at 5AM. I remember telling Dan pulling up to the hospital, we are walking in as a young married couple, but leaving as parents. Looking back now we can get a good laugh that Miss Aubrey wanted to stay in the NICU for 10 days, but at the time I was a basket case. It was soo hard on us leaving the hospital that Friday night with just Lainey, but I knew the good Lord above was watching over Aubrey. She was hard headed for a few days, made her daddy and me cry like babies our self, but she finally came to her senses. Lainey got lots of attention being the only one at home for a few days, but shared the attention when Aubrey finally came home.

We can't imagine life before them and sure wouldn't want to imagine life without them! The Lord "Twice Blessed" us and we are so thankful that he did. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUBREY & LAINEY!!! Mommy and Daddy Love you Very Very Much!!!

11 Months Old

Sorry I am a little late on posting this, but better late than never. Our babies are growing up too fast. I have to catch myself some days just thinking about them turning one soon and stop myself from crying! lol I hope that is normal?!? They have blessed us so much the past 11 months and I know we couldn't imagine live without them.

oh...they have hit the double digits! It is very very hard to believe! Lots have changed in just a month. Their personalities are really starting to shine and it is soo cute! They have both started enjoying watching Barney...of course Dan can't stand this, but if it keeps them entertained for 30 minutes a day where I can get something done, I am all for it!

The girls attended their first Easter egg hunt this past Saturday. It was sooo funny watching them pick up the eggs and just look at them like" what's this??" I am excited about Easter weekend and getting to see them enjoy all the fun that is in store.

Another Trip to the Park

Sunday we thought we would take the girls to the park again to "try" and feed the ducks, but either everyone else had that idea over the weekend and the ducks were already full or they just didn't like our whole grain bread?!? Anyway, we walked around the trail at the lake and then made our way over to the playground to swing. It was soo funny hearing little kids pass by us saying" look at those twins!"

9 Months Old

I really get emotional thinking that in 3 more months the girls are going to be a year old. I promise I am trying not to rush anything! Yes, sometimes it would be nice to see them crawling ( dont want the walking yet) everywhere, but then I know they are one more step closer to not being a baby, but moving up to the toddler stage. however, no matter how old they are they will ALWAYS be my babies!

I don't know what I would do without my grandmother! She is such a WONDERFUL, LOVING person. I always thought I was spoiled by her, but I don't compare to Aubrey and Lainey now! They always bring the biggest smile to her face and that puts a smile on my face. We told her that we had taken the girls to the park and how much they loved the swings and that we were going to have to buy the girls some for home. Well, with that being said, the girls got new swings Sunday afternoon thanks to their great grandmother. While we were swinging the girls in their new swings they were giggling and having the best time so I called Maw Maw so she could hear them and you could tell by her voice how tickled she was hearing the girls having such a good time! Thank you Maw Maw! We Love You!!

First Trip to the Park

Saturday since the weather was FINALLY nice outside, we decided to take the girls to the park. They LOVED the swings. They laughed, but spent most of the time watching everyone else. There were a ton of kids there. Dan also got brave and held the girls as they went down the slide. It was a very fun family day for the four of us.

Friday night Dan and I went to Kobe Japanese Steak house and to watch the movie Valentine's Day as our Valentine Date. We had a good time and even went to my favorite place...TARGET! lol It was good to have a few hours just Dan and I, but we were both ready to get back to see the girls. To pay Moma D for keeping the girls we stopped by Krispy Kreme and got HOT AND FRESH doughnuts! It was wonderful date night!

Eight Months Old

If you were to look up Drama Queen in the dictionary...you would find this sweet baby's picture :)

Yes, Lainey is our little drama queen. An example, today while taking their pictures, when I sat her in the chair as you can see she was all miss priss, she smiled for me and made taking her picture a breeze.

I go to take a picture of them both of them....not so much! See picture below....

Aubrey is our laid back child, she might not look at the camera exactly the way I want her to, but at least she is acting on her best behavior.

Ok, I will sum up, not all the time is Lainey the drama queen, she does have her moments, she can start crying and sound like she is in the worst of pain, but the minute you pick her up, she is laughing( I think she is laughing at whoever picks her up, she is probably thinking "sucker")

Aubrey does have her moments, she is no angel all the time, she just isn't dramatic as her sister!

I will say this, the good Lord above has blessed us sooo much. They are wonderful babies, that hardly ever act up. If they do start acting up, then something has to be wrong. They play well together, just don't let a hair bow, sock, or paci get in the way.

As of right now:

they are both sitting up alone

starting to slowly hold their bottles by themselves

still rocking on those knees, so be on the look out for an update at anytime that we have a crawler

both are cutting the bottom two front teeth, be on the look for that update as well when they arrive

they have started eating puffs, which they are like little vacuums when it comes to those things!

"da da da" is ALL I HEAR! I am ready for "ma ma ma" PLEASE just ONCE!

they will every now and then wave "bye bye" still working on that

Our babies are growing up and to be honest I am surprised I haven't had an emotional break down thinking about it....it could still happen! If it does, please send strawberry ice cream, brownies and dt mt dew for me to drown in my sorrows! lol

Friday night we had planned to go out to eat for Mom's birthday, but with the rainy weather we just ordered something and went to the new house to eat. Popa Jim was here so he spent most of his time playing with the girls and every once in a while he would speak to the rest of us! lol

Saturday, Jim and Mom came to our house so Popa Jim could see the girls some more. However, we got Maw Maw to fix Chicken and Dumplings and Potato Soup along with her famous cornbread for lunch and bring. Oh it was sooo good! I would take that as a birthday meal any day! It was nice having family time even if the weather was so bad!

Another Busy Weekend

Once again, I feel like we are always on the go!!! But that is ok, gives me a reason to dress the girls up! :) Friday the girls and I surprised Dan for lunch and we all went to eat at our favorite "quick" meal place, Taco Casa. Some of Dan's co-workers came as well, so of course Dan enjoyed showing the girls off and the girls put on a show for them all. Then, the girls and I went and picked up Moma D and went and did our favorite thing...SHOP! :) Well, really I was looking for some new material to make the girls another dress, and I found some that is SOO CUTE!!! Friday night I went to scrapbook for a little bit, I am soooooo behind! Especially since I am having to do two books instead of one!!! I got 5 pages done for each book, but still have to go back and write things for each page. While I went to scrapbook the girls stayed with Moma D, but I had a curfew of being home by midnight, I was a few minutes late, but that wasn't the first time of me being past curfew! :) The girls and I stayed with mom Friday night and got up Saturday morning and did what we do best....went shopping! :) I had a few gift cards left over from Christmas that I wanted to finally use. It is so nice now getting to have girl time with mom again!

Things will slow down for a day or two...well maybe! :) They need to...I really need to clean house!

So, I have started out 2010 slacking on posting blogs, but we have been busy! So pretty much just going to give you a quick run through so far and post a few pictures.

Best thing so far in 2010....Moma D and Popa Jim are homeowners in ALABAMA!!!!! So that is what we have been doing the past few weeks, helping them get settled in. We have even had a few sleepovers as well!

We also got to ENJOY (well most of us) watching Alabama play and WIN their 13th National Championship!!!! This is a cute shirt I found for the girls to wear(poor Dan told them he was sorry that he would probably never get to buy them one for his team)

Aubrey had to go to the Dr. She scratched herself under her nose and it got infected so off to the Dr we go and got the diagnosis of impetigo. Bless her heart she didn't let it get her down and it has pretty much all cleared up now.

Oh....did I mention that our precious angels are 7 months old now?!?!?! I can't believe it!!! They are really starting to let their sweet little personalities shine.

Aubrey is Dan to a tee. Not only does she look just like him, but so far she is the more quiet and shy one just like him. She can be satisfied for a good while with a toy and be content. Lainey....well...lol...she is just like me. She is going to be my "pay for your raising" child. ( just for the record...I was a good child, wasn't perfect, but I was good) She is more the outgoing one and has to have 10 toys to play with, but if she sees that one toy that Aubrey has and knows that Aubrey is having fun playing with it, she takes it from her and adds it to her pile. Don't forget, she did pretty much sit on Aubrey's head for almost 9 months!

They are both on the verge of crawling, they have the going backwards part down, its just going forward they haven't figured out yet, but SOON! Still no teeth, lots of drooling and here lately very cranky at times, so I see that happening soon as well!

The girls are sitting up alone now. They are "talking" all the time and it's sooo cute! You can hand them a phone now and they will wave to the person, but not say anything, it's too cute! Eating baby food or "groceries" as Popa Jim calls it like it is their job.

Since they are starting to sit up alone, they are now getting to ride in their "limo" minus the car seats. I almost cried the first time this happened

This is another great memory made. My grandmother came over one afternoon and I was trying to pick up in the house some, but it was time for the girls to have a bottle and a nap. So we got them fed and she rocked Aubrey and got her to sleep then in this picture she is rocking Lainey to sleep. She is the best grandmother in my eyes and soooo blessed to have her in my life and in Aubrey and Lainey's!

Happy Birthday to my Second Mom!

Happy Birthday to my second mom. Aunt Nita there aren't enough words to let you know how much you mean to me. Every since the day I was born you have always been right by my side.

I can remember thinking I was hot stuff getting to go to Tuscaloosa just to spend the night with you. I always loved wearing my shirt " Somebody in Tuscaloosa Loves Me."

You always have the right words to say to me, even though sometimes I didn't want to hear them, in the long run I always listened to you.

When Mom moved to Oklahoma and I was still in college, you stood up to the plate to be my "mom" when I needed one since my mom was so far away. You helped me out of many many binds while I was in school.

You always cooked the best meals when I was living in Tuscaloosa. Sometimes I felt like a burden coming over sooo much, but you always had my place set at the table. I still say coming over for supper at your house is one of the things I miss the most now that I dont live there anymore( it ranks up there high with tailgating on the quad!!)

I remember the day I told you that I was going to make you a GREAT Aunt. You just smiled with joy. It was really exciting when I told you that I was making you a GREAT aunt times two!!!! :)

I can never thank you enough for all you did for Dan and me while Aubrey was still in NICU. You helped us sooooo much playing the role of "grandmother" ( as most of you know, only parents and grandparents are allowed in the NICU, but other visitors are allowed if the parents are with them)since we had another baby at home to take care of as well, it was very hard being in two places at once, especially for the 5PM, 8PM and even the 11PM feedings. However, Aunt Nita was Aubrey's "MeMe" during her stay and we never let them know otherwise. Aunt Nita would get up an hour early to go feed Aubrey for us until one of us got there and then go back at night for her nightly feedings. We couldn't of survived without her during that week, she played her role so well, she even got a certificate for "World's Greatest Grandmother" (and dont think she doesn't hold that over Moma D's head!!! lol)

Overall, you have blessed our family soo much with your Christian love and care. I am very thankful, blessed and most of all proud that I can call you MY aunt and no one else gets that honor!

I love you!!!
