Best Moment of 2009

The best moment of 2009 happened on June 1st at 7:16 AM and 7:18 AM.

Aubrey Kathryn and

Lainey Ryan were welcomed into this world.

I really can't think of anything else that tops this wonderful moment. Dan and I have been "twice blessed" and very thankful for what God has given us. We can't imagine life before them.
We hope all of you are blessed in 2010!!!

New Bath Tub

Santa brought Aubrey and Lainey this cute pink duck tub. From the looks of the pictures from bath time, I believe they like it!

Ho Ho is coming

Happy Birthday to my Second Mom!

Happy Birthday to my second mom. Aunt Nita there aren't enough words to let you know how much you mean to me. Every since the day I was born you have always been right by my side.

I can remember thinking I was hot stuff getting to go to Tuscaloosa just to spend the night with you. I always loved wearing my shirt " Somebody in Tuscaloosa Loves Me."

You always have the right words to say to me, even though sometimes I didn't want to hear them, in the long run I always listened to you.

When Mom moved to Oklahoma and I was still in college, you stood up to the plate to be my "mom" when I needed one since my mom was so far away. You helped me out of many many binds while I was in school.

You always cooked the best meals when I was living in Tuscaloosa. Sometimes I felt like a burden coming over sooo much, but you always had my place set at the table. I still say coming over for supper at your house is one of the things I miss the most now that I dont live there anymore( it ranks up there high with tailgating on the quad!!)

I remember the day I told you that I was going to make you a GREAT Aunt. You just smiled with joy. It was really exciting when I told you that I was making you a GREAT aunt times two!!!! :)

I can never thank you enough for all you did for Dan and me while Aubrey was still in NICU. You helped us sooooo much playing the role of "grandmother" ( as most of you know, only parents and grandparents are allowed in the NICU, but other visitors are allowed if the parents are with them)since we had another baby at home to take care of as well, it was very hard being in two places at once, especially for the 5PM, 8PM and even the 11PM feedings. However, Aunt Nita was Aubrey's "MeMe" during her stay and we never let them know otherwise. Aunt Nita would get up an hour early to go feed Aubrey for us until one of us got there and then go back at night for her nightly feedings. We couldn't of survived without her during that week, she played her role so well, she even got a certificate for "World's Greatest Grandmother" (and dont think she doesn't hold that over Moma D's head!!! lol)

Overall, you have blessed our family soo much with your Christian love and care. I am very thankful, blessed and most of all proud that I can call you MY aunt and no one else gets that honor!

I love you!!!

Aubrey and Lainey's First Snow

<---getting ready to go play in the snow

I have to admit....it took longer getting them dressed to be out in the snow than the amount of time they were actually out there. However, it was a "first" of many, so whatever it took! They really weren't too sure about it, just looked at me as if they were thinking "OK what's
the big deal, let's go back inside."

Visit with Santa

The girls were very very good at their six month check up. Aubrey is weighing 15 lbs 1 oz and 26 inches long. Lainey is weighing 15 lbs 2 ozs and 26.5 inches long. Where did my little 6lb babies go?!?! They both got 5 SHOTS EACH! They both cried for a few seconds, but who wouldn't get that many shots! We are about to start baby food now, so bring on the peas, carrots, bananas, and apple sauce. Yum Yum!

Six Months Old!

Oh how they are growing up too fast! This month is going to be an exciting one. Granted the girls won't know much going on, but the rest of the family will get joy out of them during the holidays. Aubrey is obsessed with her toes still, they are like her best friend! Lainey is all about rolling to her stomach and lifting herself up. I am waiting on the day when they both learn to roll back over! They are amazed with the Christmas tree lights in our living room and in their room. The girls go for their six month check up on Friday, BOO to getting shots! And then if the girls act good( and you know they will) we are taking them to see Santa!!!! Granted I told Dan we would have to take a loan out just to pay for one picture but it is sooo worth it when it comes to Aubrey and Lainey!

Introducing.....

CHANDLER!! Isn't she a cutie?!?! Chandler made her grand entrance this afternoon at the Deavours' household. I am wondering what tricks she will have up her sleeve to make sure Aubrey and Lainey ( and possibly Dan) are good children for Santa?!? So if you come to our house and see Chandler hiding out, you better be on your best behavior...never know she might be spying for Santa to let him know if you are being bad or good!

I am thankful for....

playtime with Aubrey and Lainey. The girls are getting to the age where they are laughing out loud and it is soooo cute! I am enjoying this new phase in their lives. They are starting to grab for toys more and they are more alert at things. Of course they have also started learning where their hairbows are now and pulling them along with the headband down over their eyes, I am trying to break that habit! lol I took this video of them last night. ( Lainey is my giggle box and Aubrey shows everyone how much she loves her toes! and please excuse my lovely voice...I hate talking on a camera!)

I am thankful for...

a wonderful, loving, caring father for my daughters. Dan is THE BEST dad ever! I have had people tell me they worried how he might be once the girls got here, but he has proved them all WRONG! And to be honest, I get joy bragging on how great he has been with the girls. Yes, he changes diapers (even the stinky ones)! YES, he feeds them(and has learn to handle spit up very well)! YES, he gets them dressed(even down to putting on the hair bows!)! YES, he enjoys rocking the girls to sleep every night(even sings to them)! YES HE GETS UP THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT TO FEED THEM(and sometimes he gets up with both girls and lets me sleep)! Aubrey and Lainey are very blessed to have Dan as their daddy!

How could you not be thankful for this???

I am thankful for....

Blind dates!!!!! I know...crazy huh??? Well, if it wasn't for a blind date Dan and I would of never met, but today I am doing something I am thankful for and someone I am blessed to have in my life. Danyell ( or Miss Hudson as lots of people in Berry know her as) is the person I am blessed to have in my life. Today, November 8th, she blessed the world with her presence. Had it not been for her being on this earth, Dan and I would of never met, she was our "matchmaker" Everyday I thank the good Lord above for my friends, and I have some WONDERFUL TERRIFIC FRIENDS! She has always been there when I needed her, even if she didn't always agree with what I had to say or do! We have been on vacations, cruises, shopping trips ( can't wait to experience my first after thanksgiving shopping experience with you! She gets up at 3 AM to go!) crazy and happy times and a few sad, but not matter what we always have a wonderful fun time together! So Danyell, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I am blessed to have you in my life and thankful for what you have done in my life! I love you!!! :)

What are you thankful for?

If you are following along with this month's verse ( Bowling Family Moments)then each day you are to write down what you are thankful. Well I think each day I am going to post a blog for what I am thankful for, that way I am growing and learning from this month's verse...

Enter his gates with THANKSGIVING and his courts with praise;give thanks to him and praise his name."~~Psalm 100:4
  • Nov 1: Thankful that I have a roof over my head
  • Nov 2: Thankful for a husband that goes to work to provide for our family so I can be a stay at home mom
  • Nov 3: Thankful for my wonderful Family and Friends
So what are you thankful for?

5 Months Old

Where is the time going??? The girls are growing more and more each day! It's hard to believe they are already five months old. They are such a blessing to us and we are truly blessed to have them! They are both rolling over from their back to their stomachs. They are "talking" up a storm and it's sooo funny! They smile all the time, they are such happy babies! And of course, they are mommy's little fashion divas still! :) The girls love singing, their new favortie song is one that Moma D sings to them, "the itsy bitsy spider" They are all smiles when she starts this song. They also smile when I start singing " Yea Alabama" even though their Daddy makes an ugly face, the girls love it! :)

Happy Halloween

Dan and I with our favorite "treats" Lainey the ladybug and Aubrey the bumblebee!

The girls enjoyed their 1st (VERY busy) Halloween! They attended TWO birthday parties, plus visiting family and friends trick or treating, we covered 4 counties between Friday and Saturday just so everyone would get a visit from these precious "treats"!! The girls really racked up on all their treats. I will admit by the time we finally got home at 11PM Halloween night, we were VERY TIRED! lol It was a fun filled day for us all!
On Friday, the girls visited Aunt Amanda and the girls at the bank, then we went to Millport and surprised Aunt Sheila at work, then went to Granny Prater's and visited with her and G-diddy. Granny and G-diddy both got a kick out of the girls' costumes. It was good seeing both of them. Aubrey and Lainey both just sat in Granny's lap and were just soo happy, she has that special touch, but when you have a combined total of 22 grandkids and great grandkids plus another one one the way, you probably have lots of practice!

On saturday, we started the festivities by attending Tucker's 1st Birthday party, which was a costume party. There were all kinds of cute costumes there. After Tucker's party, the girls, Moma D and I went to Winfield to the next birthday party. We helped Ally Tidwell celebrate her 1st Birthday as well.

We then went to see Mrs. Anita( my second mom, one of my best friends, Martha's mom, I really wish Martha would of been there!) and Ms. Ruth. We had sooo much fun with these two ladies. They had the girls laughing the entire time ( we were in such a hurry I didnt get a picture, but Ms. Ruth did and that is what counts! :) )

Next stop, Maw Maw's house. She was sooo glad to see the girls. I think seeing the girls always makes her feel better. She is still recovering from her ankle surgery, but slowly continues to get better everyday so please continue to pray for her.

Then we came home for maybe 20 minutes, Hudson and Danni Kate came to trick or treat at our house. Of course Hudson is always ready to go go go and Danni Kate enjoys playing in the leaves in our yard right now ( and if anyone wants to spare your free time and come rake them up I am sure Dan would be very grateful!)

Then across the highway we went to Nana's House.

Next stop, Moma D's Cabin. Eli was more excited than anyone I believe, he enjoys Halloween too! We attempted to get a picture with Eli in it as well but he was so overjoyed with excitement he wouldn't sit still long enough!

Then it was off to Flatwoods to see Popa Holley, he even got in the spirit and had his Halloween mask on, he is sooo funny!

Finally we made it to Tuscaloosa, to Aunt Nita and Uncle Wayne's house. Uncle Wayne treated us to steaks as our Halloween treat and they were YUMMY!!!

(we are practicing letting the girls sit by Uncle Wayne so when Christmas gets here they wont be scared of Santa! lol)

Overall, it was a very fun and busy day, the girls are probably wondering what all the fuss was about, I guess Dan and I got more from it than them, but that's ok in another year it will be much more exciting!

We would like to mention that we missed Popa Jim and wish he could of been here as well, but we will see him in a few weeks! We love and miss you! :)
